Biography

  • Denis Alyshev was born in May 1971 in Russia.
  • First picked up camera at the age of 12 and never put it down since.
  • Joined junior film studio "Era" (Sarov) three year later where he learned photo/cinema basics.
  • Graduated from the University with a honour diploma in 1995.
  • Since 1995 he has been working as a Software Engineer.
  • Photography is more than just a hobby for him.
  • He is a member of Queen's Park Camera Club (Glasgow, Scotland) since January 2002 and member of Scottish Photographers since February 2004.

Competitions and Awards

  • 1987 - took first place in a junior film festival, Sarov, Russia
  • 1996 - took first place in a newspaper photo competion "Family", Sarov, Russia
  • 1998 - pictures entered in top 100 in Internet International Art/Photography Contest (IIAPC), Japan
  • 1999 - took 3-rd prize in an amateur photo competition ("Photoclub" TV program, channel 6), Moscow, Russia
  • 2003 - won East Dunbartonshire Photography Competion Kirkintilloch, Scotland
